The Dolphin and the Octopus

“Help! I’m caught in a net.” The dolphin struggled to break free. The octopus felt pity. She approached the dolphin.

“I’ll help if you promise not to hurt me.”

The dolphin stilled as she worked. When the last rope fell, the dolphin protected the octopus until she’d gone back into hiding.

Moral of the Story: Kindness is its own reward

  1. This is so beautiful in its straightforward simplicity. As I was reading I was waiting for the proverbial “other shoe” to fall. And it didn’t. Which say something – either about my cynicism or the state of the world.
