The moon’s light upon the snow-covered ground creates a soft glow within the murky night. From my window, I search the silent sky for one sign that you’re still with me. But you’re forever gone and the candle burns on.

My favorite image is the silent night. It seemed the exact right time to bring the lack of sound into the scene. Nicely done!

The sense of loss was right throughout this piece until the end, where I sensed some hope because the narrator was continuing to live despite her despair.
